Frequently Asked Questions
-
How much do you charge?
Our sessions are $225 per meeting, with each meeting being 80-minutes in length. HSA, Zelle, Credit, and Debit cards are accepted.
-
Why can't I use my insurance?
Because the length of our sessions is longer than average, and the focus of our work is on the relationship as a system rather than treating a specific mental health diagnosis, insurance will not cover this work.
-
How long will couples counseling take?
There is no set number of sessions you need to complete, however the first 3 include an assessment phase which will identify what areas of your relationship need the most help. After these three sessions communication practice begins and if you apply the skills at home you will start to notice a change in how your relationship feels very quickly.
From there you may schedule as many or as few sessions as needed, at a pace that is comfortable to you.
-
What if my partner does not want to come to couples counseling?
Couples counseling works best when all parties are willing to engage in the work. In cases where one partner is unsure about counseling, or unsure about the relationship itself, a different process called Discernment Counseling is required. It’s a short-term focused method with the goal of helping each party come to a decision about whether to try to improve the relationship, or to end the relationship amicably.
-

-
Do you work with polyamorous and ethically non-monogamous partners?
Yes, we do work with poly partners, and can work with multiple partners at once, or a dyad within a polycule.
